Dr. Minda Stackelhouse is a dedicated educator that has focused her 27 year career on providing quality education to students, supporting staff to grow schools and empowering the community to partner with schools. She is a passionate educator that has devoted her skill and expertise to the growth and empowerment of students through education. Minda has an extensive history in education. She taught elementary school for 12 years, was a principal for two elementary schools, junior high, and high school for 6 years. She has been an Assistant Superintendent of Student Services for a Charter School, Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Executive Director of Administrative Services, Executive Director of Professional Development and Instruction, and Executive Director of Personnel/Risk Management for the Oro Grande School District. Minda's educational career has focused on working with many diverse students and populations and demonstrating sustained growth throughout the years. She is a strong believer in all kids can learn and we have to give the best of ourselves on a daily basis. Minda is a passionate coach that supports site and district level administrators with best practices around shared leadership, relationship building, strategic planning, systematic growth, goal setting and attainment.
Minda is a long time resident of the High Desert and takes great pride in being a part of the educational system that gave her a start in this community. She is highly dedicated to helping our community grow and thrive. Minda is a community focused educator that understands the impact and importance of relationships between the business sector and education. This is demonstrated in being able to develop and implement the first Jr. Chamber of Commerce with the Victor Valley Chamber of Commerce and being awarded the Paul G. Harris award from the Rotary Club for commitment and service to community, and being a part of a team to reach the semi finals in a national competition to reinvent high school. Her focus on building community partnerships with the local community college as well private colleges has resulted in a program that is ensuring all students are graduating high school with a minimum of two college classes and several students graduating with their Associates Degree.
Minda and her husband, Stuart, have two kids, Samantha and Nathan. Sam is 23 and Nate is 21. Samantha is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Political Science and has earned her Master's Degree in Public Policy from UC Riverside. She is an Assistant Resional Director for a school advocacy organization. Nate is a third year student at UC Santa Barbara and is pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science. She has learned so much through her children. They are incredible kids! She takes great pride in her family's’ long history in the High Desert. This would include both her father and father in laws service in the Air Force for over 20 years. Both her mother and mother in law have served in the real estate community for well over 25 years. Her husband Stuart has been a proud business owner of High Desert Home Inspection for 21 years.
